Iain Shields14 Apr - 11:59

• Every Friday from 2nd May • 18:00 (up to Under 11) • 19:00 (Under 12 and over) • Age 5-8 'All Stars' cricket from 9th May 18:00 • Click for more

We'd love you to join us on a Friday evening to enjoy junior cricket at one of the most picturesque grounds in the country.
While the juniors train there is plenty of opportunity for the adults to have a drink and a burger, socialise and relax.

2025 season timeline

Ages 5-8
For ages 5-8 we enrol in the ECB national 'All Stars' programme where, as one group, we work on hand-eye co-ordination and start to build up the skills needed to enjoy cricket through various fun, game-based activities.

This runs for 8 weeks from 9th May from 18:00 - 19:00.

Enrolment must be completed in advance through the ECB here:

The cost is £55 for the whole programme and includes a bat, ball, backpack and personalised T-shirt delivered to your door as well as insurance.
Many adults choose to bring picnic blankets and camping chairs as supervision is required but the bar is open!

Ages 8 (school year 3) and above:
Please come along before the sessions commence from 2nd May onwards and introduce yourself to a coach (usually wearing ECB clothing) and we'll find the right place for your junior to make a start.
Every Friday from 2nd May
Under 8s – 11s: 18:00 – 19:00
Under 12s - 15s: 19:00 - 20:30

For these age groups, membership is required after your first session and includes insurance.
Membership Subscriptions
We do not charge junior match fees and we present end-of-season awards in a ceremony at the end of the summer.
We also operate a kit exchange scheme as we all know how fast they grow!

At Newdigate we are very fortunate to have a lot of committed coaches for a village club, most qualified up to ECB level 2, but all are volunteers giving up their time to inspire the next generation and pass on their love of the game. We'd welcome more people to join the coaching team and will organise the training you need. Do speak with a coach to get involved. It is an incredibly rewarding experience.

We are also always in need of adult helpers for everything from team management, scoring and coaching to flipping burgers on the BBQ. Please email or speak with a club official to offer your support!
